Create Dynamic Database

Create Dynamic Database 1) Click on Create Dynamic Database to create a new Dynamic Database instance.

Create Dynamic Database 2) Enter a name for the new Dynamic Database instance

3) Choose the Size of your instance (XS:1vCPU, 16GB RAM; S: 2vCPU, 32GB RAM; M: 4vCPU, 64GB RAM; L: 8vCPU, 128 GB RAM; XL: 16vCPU, 256GB RAM; Developer: 1vCPU, 16GB RAM)

4) Enter the storage size for the instance. At least 200GB increase in steps of 200 GB (Max Storage: Developer=200GB; XS, S = 10000GB; M, L, XL = 20000GB)

5) Choose if you need a Backup or not

6) Choose if you need High Availability or not

7) Choose if you need Disaster Recovery or not

8) Select the character set you want to use for your instance

9) If you mark the Show advanced options checkbox you are able to define the DB version ( 12c only), National character set and DB block size. Dynamic Database versions options 10) Select the network created in 3.5.1 "Create Dynamic Database Network" you want your instance to be connected with

11) Choose the support time (Mo-Fr 07:00-18:00, Mo-So 00:00 -24:00)

12) Select a previously created technical contact or add a new one

13) Select a license. You can choose between Swisscom licenses, previously added CSIs or optionally you can add a new CSI

14) Read and accept the licensing terms

15) Click Next and submit the order on the next page

Important: The creation of a Dynamic Database will take about:

  • 1.5 hours (withouth DR / HA)
  • 2.5 hours (with DR / HA)

Access Dynamic Database

All the information you need to access your Dynamic Database can be found if you click on the "i" icon next to your Dynamic Database.

Dynamic Database

1) In case of a Dynamic Database without HA

To conncet to your Dynamic Database the following information is required:

  • Username and Password
  • IP-Address "n1"
  • Default-Port (1521)
  • SID

An example could look like that:

  • appluser1@//10.20.30.5:1521/PDYN0052
  • (username@//IP-n1:Default-Port/SID)

2) In case of a Dynamic Database with HA

To conncet to your Dynamic Database the following information is required:

  • Username and Password
  • IP-Address "scan"
  • Default-Port (1521)
  • SID
  • DNS-Suffix

An example could look like that:

  • appluser1@//10.20.30.7:1521/PDYN0052.swisscom.ch
  • (username@//IP-scan:Default-Port/SID.dns_suffix)

Modifiy Dynamic Database

Dynamic Database 1) You can modify your Dynamic Database if you click on the "pencil" icon next to your Dynamic Database

Dynamic Database 2) Choose the new Size of your instance (XS:1vCPU, 16GB RAM; S: 2vCPU, 32GB RAM; M: 4vCPU, 64GB RAM; L: 8vCPU, 128 GB RAM; XL: 16vCPU, 256GB RAM; Developer: 1vCPU, 16GB RAM)

Delete Dynamic Database

Create Dynamic Database 1) You can delete your Dynamic Database if you click on the "x" icon next to your Dynamic Database

Create Dynamic Database 2) Confirm your actions by checking the box

3) Submit your order
